A Tender Thing : Chipping Norton Theatre, May

Calling all Romeo and Juliet fans..

Thursday 3 May – Saturday 12 May

A Chipping Norton Theatre HomeGrown Production. Ben Power’s unique and moving play imagines the star-crossed lovers at the end of long lives together. Shakespeare’s original words are woven together into a new, deeply romantic story of loyalty, loss and enduring love. Love entangled with the end of love.

An astonishing and beautiful reimagining of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

This two hander production has an exceptional, high-profile cast, featuring Patrick Driver as Romeo and Suzanna Hamilton as Juliet. Patrick is a regular at The Globe Theatre staring in Measure for Measure, The Heresy of Love, As You Like It, Julius Caesar & The Taming of The Shrew.  Driver also starred in the award winning The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-time at the Apollo Theatre in the west end and is no stranger to your TV screens, appearing in Call the midwife, EastEnders and Silent Witness. Suzanna came to fame in the film Swallows and Amazons when just a child, before going on to star opposite John Hurt in 1984 and alongside Meryl Streep in Out of Africa. These days she is a familiar face on your TV screen, with performances in Jonathan Creek, Casualty, Silent Witness and New Tricks.
