This February half term, children are invited to unleash their silly sides as enrolment opens for Oxford’s first Fool School!
The court jester at Oxford Castle Unlocked will offer lessons in the distinguished arts of joke telling, plate spinning, juggling and feather tickling. The one hour crash course ends with a royal visit, to see if the Fool School pupils can raise a chuckle from the Castle’s grumpy King or Queen.
Fool School is recommended for ages 5-10 years. Parents can stay if they wish, or can escape for a quiet coffee in the Castleyard Café!
Oxford Castle Unlocked is located on the former site of HMP Oxford but has stood as a Castle for 1000 years. The attraction offers regular 40-minute guided tours which explain the origins of Oxford and the role the Castle played in the city’s rich history. Visitors explore the Saxon stone-built St. George’s Tower, the atmospheric crypt, the preserved prison wing and the archaic man-made mound offering breath-taking views of Oxford.
