Today, we explore the newly refurbished British Motor Museum, which has the largest collection of historic British cars.
You can take a walk down the ‘Time Road’ and discover how both motoring and family life has changed through the decades including period music and memorable events such as the introduction of double yellow lines.
Travel through ‘Making British Cars’ and see how influential the motor industry has been over the years and where it is heading in the future.
Get ‘Under The Skin’ and unravel the mystery of how cars work with interactive exhibits. Experience how suspension has improved over time and compare the difference between rack and pin and power steering.
You can also get a ‘behind the scenes’ insight into how they store and preserve their vehicles in their Collections Centre, with over 250 cars from both our reserve car collection and that of the Jaguar Heritage Trust to explore. View their restoration work underway in their new historic workshop and you can also enjoy a free guided tour with one of the enthusiastic guides who will help bring the cars to life.
Of course, there is also an onsite café serving hot and cold meals and snacks, an outdoor play area, and free parking, which makes it perfect for an all-day visit.
Make sure to check their website for great school holiday activities and special weekend motoring events – fun for all the family whatever the weather!
